We worked today with the purpose of “Elevating the Lower School Teaching Institute.”
Our Agenda:
Revise Year 1 - 3 Benchmarks to provide more opportunities for second and third year Associate Teachers to deepen their experience to best prepare them to transition to Lead Teachers.
Revised Lesson Observation Schedule for Year 1, 2, and 3
Revised Letter of Recommendation/Reference Protocol
Include a “Swap Day” and a “Solo Teaching Week” for year 2 and 3
Increased report card writing responsibilities for 3rd year Associate Teachers
3rd year AT requirements for participating in AT Teaching Institute Workshops
Rotating responsibilities: check-in & check-out activities
Modeling Book Club Facilitator - Required sign-up for the first 3 slots
Revise Teaching Institute language to make expectations more explicit - This is a “work in progress” for Tammi - aiming to be ready for August 2024
Meet with 3rd year ATs separately
Increase Motivation for Lead Teachers to facilitate a Teaching Institute Workshop
Create a Financial Model to Request for AT Graduate School/Credential Stipend
