Upper School Math Curriculum Planning for 2024-25
We had two new members join the US Math Department this year and felt it would be useful to meet as a department to reflect on our experiences this year and set priorities for next year. We used our work-in-progress K-8 Math Scope and Sequence and our Common Curriculum Planner to evaluate our current curriculum, determine what to keep, what to change and what to get rid of.
We focused on the four tasks below:
• Reflect on 23-24 lesson planning, workflow and communication by grade level 5-8
• Look at Common Core standards and IXL/ERB data in 2023-24
• Discuss 2024-25 lesson planning, assessment and what we'd like in a new textbook
• Note ways we can address gaps in the 2024-25 year
