It was great to talk about how mindfulness is used in my classroom and other lower-school classrooms. I see my students putting mindfulness practices into use during conflict resolution. They are open to the idea of using mindfulness in the classroom and on the playground.
I am curious how we can guide students to use mindfulness strategies as they grow older and balance academic and social challenges 4-8. Alice opened the meeting with thoughts from previous mindfulness conversations. I wonder how we can help students balance classwork, demands of the day, after-school activities, homework, and social life. How can mindful practices benefit students with the balancing act?
I agree that the 4-8 years are a challenge for students with all there is to balance and hope we can continue to build our toolkit as a school to empower them to tap into mindfulness as a skill to address these demands.
