Simone and I worked on revamping the 4B library. Last week, while we were beginning to organize the library, we realized that we were missing some perspectives and backgrounds. To ensure that our library is both inclusive and accessible to all, we worked on finding books by authors and with characters from different backgrounds at different reading levels. We decided which books we needed to prioritize and order today, but we also are keeping a list of books that we have not yet ordered but hopefully will in the future.
Additionally, we went through our library to find and donate books that seemed outdated and less relevant to students today. We also organized the library and made sure books were labelled by genre and reading level so that we can better support students in finding books that are at their "just right" level, and are also interesting to them.
