On Friday, Oct. 21 I attended the tri-yearly meeting of the Bay Area Independent School Librarians at Harker School in San Jose. As usual, the meeting was full of incredible information and ideas that I am ready to put into action. The morning featured a guest speaker from KQED who presented their opportunities and platforms for storytelling, something I believe to be useful and important for all our students, but especially for seventh graders working on their public speeches, and I am excited to share that information with Rebecca. In the afternoon, we learned about the different ways school librarians share relevant library information with their respective faculties, and shared catalog and database troubleshooting information. The meeting ended with a Book Tasting, a fun literary exploration format that it may be an option for HEART classes.
I look forward to the next BAISL meeting this winter.
Love the idea of a book tasting and I bet students would love to do that too:)!
