4th Grade Team ~ 1 Day Summer S.E.L. Grant Work
I met with Lizzy Charnas and Simone Wolk in July 12th to look back at this year's SEL work and compare it to what we have done in the past several years. We created a document as we planned week to week activities, and then we chose the labels: citizenship, exploring self-identity, building communication toolbox, growing voice to be an advocate, and creating an inclusive community. We color-coded these labels so that we could see the balance (or lack of) of the activties when looking at our week to week agenda. This was extemely helpful. We each have our biases and "favorite activties," so the color coding helped us to be mindful of covering all 5 S.E.L. themes to the degree which best represents a robust 4th Grade S.E.L. program. We were able to plan detailed lessons up to Winter Break. This has given us a fabulous start to the school year and we will continue this work as the 2023-24 school year progresses.

Can't wait to see the fruits of your labor with this!
