We worked on math curriculum planning and reflecting on what went well this year and what could be improved for next year. This involved work on math resources including examining our current textbook and curriculum for 5th-8th grade and finding extra resources to supplement and support student learning. It was especially helpful to be able to reflect on the year for 6th grade math and have some time to adjust our approach including our textbook as we prepare for next year. We also spent some time rearranging units and topics to make sure our instruction and student learning matched the Common Core Math Standards. Overall, I thought this was a great use of time and I feel much better prepared for next year going into the summer - it felt great to be able to give curriculum planning the time it deserved outside of the regular craziness of the end of the year.
