Cultura Curious
Today, I worked with Anna Yatroussis to revamp and rethink the program and plan for 2024/2025 for the Hispanic/LatinX Affinity group. Our main purpose was to identify the theme and overall scope ( and eventually sequence) for our meetings with the students. We focused on initial meetings, and the terminology we feel is crucial for our group to understand and why. The theme, "Cultura Curious", will guide our work with the students, hopefully providing a safe place for students to do identity work. We also discussed ways to foster more belonging and inclusivity in our group. Our discussion and 1/2 day meeting was a great way for Anna and me to start developing our partnership in service of our Latinx students. I believe that we share student goals and intentions for the group, and I am excited to continue our work next year!
