Writing Curriculum

It was such a luxery to be able to take some time to dive deeply into our writing curriculum. We were able to develop and entirely new paragraphing unit and build a grammar and mechanics curriculum for the year.

We built slides, went through our other units and fine tuned them. Then we assessed the units against California Common Core writing standards.

I'm so proud of the team and what we created. It's been amazing to see it come to fruition over the last two months as we started the school year. Attatched is our work that we put together.

World Language Famous Women’s Project

This summer grant was finalized along with my colleagues in Spanish and Mandarin. We made the decision to meet in person for one day, and to discuss the project remotely for the second day. Lunar New Year - Year of the SNAKE! Collab Between 3rd Music, 5th Mandarin, & API

Xuemei and I met and discussed how to support each other’s curriculum around Lunar New Year, taking into consideration the different US and LS assemblies. We researched for materials and also shared resources previously collected. We linked Google Slide decks that have been made to support each item/activity. We discussed costuming and decided upon a shared project to design the scarves to celebrate Year of the Snake.

Here is a doc with a list of the activities we came up with for the 24-25 school year, links to materials, and next steps to be done as we continue the school year.
