Third Grade Lion Dance Planning
The third grade team met with Lisa, Renita and Alice to discuss our goals for Lion Dance performance to celebrate Lunar New Year with our school community. Our conversation began by determining our purpose for performing every year, and we analyzed our goals through the lens of our cultural appreciation framework from last year’s Professional Development. Through our reflection on the origins of our campus performance of the Lion Dance, we asked questions on how we can support and revise our celebration with guidance from our staff, parent and the larger San Francisco community. Our meeting concluded with action items for both teachers and administrators to guide continued work prior to our performance this winter.
