IFSEL (Institute for Social Emotional Learning) Conference
I attended IFSEL's 4-day SEL Conference. This conference was a chance to build on what I've learned when IFSEL worked with the Upper School and to connect with other educators from around the country.
Through this conference, I learned the importance of ritual, such as establishing routines for appreciation and for having regularly scheduled Open Session. I learned tools for conflict resolution such as taking perspectives, de-escalation techniques, self-advocacy and processing. I also got great ideas for using creativity, nature and fun to build SEL skills. I will share these resources with my advising team.
